ARTISTRY Talented local artists are filling the store with new designs. Welcome to our youngest artist, Rebecca Metras, an engaging 11 year old from Pepperell. Rebecca has won awards with her drawings and she's winning over the public with her monochrome of the Pepperell Covered Bridge . Joanne Anderson of Pepperell has added more beautiful watercolor originals, which collectors of her artwork will love. Artist, Nita Casey of Gingerbread Art Gallery in Pepperell has prints of her rooster watercolors and original artworks at the store. Johanna Reagan, of Pepperell, has added new Pepperell-related folk art designs on slate and wood. Dedham Pottery ornaments and majolica pins, made entirely by hand by artist Mary DeCaprio of Brick Pond Handworks in Pepperell, are always popular with the shoppers. More handcrafted kaleidoscopes are in from west coast artist Linda Bellacicco. Colorful clay beaded jewelry and raku pottery by Alene Sirott-Cope of Hollis has just arrived. Sonia Ascher, also of Hollis, is offering captivating New England scenes and an extensive collection of covered bridge photography. Cynthia Santos of Pepperell has a great photographic eye as well and adds a special scrapbooking touch to many of her photo cards. Pepperell native, Bob Cebula, wood burns one-of-a-kind images of the Pepperell Covered Bridge on unusual wooden items. Suzanne Kellogg of Pepperell also captures the beauty of our bridge on hand painted memorabilia. Martha McCaffrey of Pepperell is sewing and sculpting cloth items in country, primitive and seasonal themes that sell very quickly. Skilled seamstress, Susan Thompson, sells hand sewn children's gifts that are notably top quality. Hand painted glasses make a great gift and Denise Sitar of Townsend has floral and other clever designs for you to consider. Try new, delicious Vermont made flavors of jam from Side Hill Farm or add it to a gift basket with Best Ever Brownies by Village Mixes of New Hampshire and artisan breads from the Lollipop Tree of New Hampshire. New seasonal scents in natural soap are available and Hands on Natural Soap of Pepperell continues to be our best seller, hands down. ANTIQUES AND COLLECTIBLES We have a new selection of classic, vintage items and collectibles including a large collection of bone china teacups from the 1950's, lovely Fenton glass, lots of ruby glass, old German and Japanese dolls, mixing bowls both old and new, collectible vintage purses, old embroidered lace linens and ladies hand mirrors. Sales of collectibles and antiques are increasing, which can occur during a struggling economy. FUNDRAISING The store is helping to raise funds for worthy causes in our town. Pepperellopoly games by The Friends of Pepperell were popular so supplies are getting very limited. The Pepperell afghan throw, from the 4 th of July Committee, proudly displays all our favorite historical places in town and we have blue, burgundy and green. Help the Pepperell Historical Society restore the old District No. 3 School House with your purchase of note cards depicting a hand sketched image of the school house. Important school band programs will benefit from sales of the cookbook assembled by Pepperell Parents Pro Musica. Several artistic designs of the Pepperell covered bridges are available. The profit we make on many of these items is going to the Pepperell Covered Bridge Scenic Outlook. The Outlook will be built at the Groton Street site of our historic covered bridges and the place where a woman patriot, Prudence Wright, courageously defended her bridge and our independence during the Revolutionary War.
